Group Bios

Fred Siegel (Artistic Director) was born in New York, grew up in Northeast Philadelphia, and has a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from New York University. He wrote his doctoral dissertation on "The Vaudeville Magic Act, 1890-1930." In 1989 and 1990 he was a featured performer in Bradshaw's Circus of World Curiosities, a Coney Island side show. Currently, he teaches at Drexel University and is a nine year veteran of Comedy Sportz Philadelphia and a performer with Theater Ariel. He is also active in the Philadelphia chapter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, where he was named 2002 stage magic champion and 2004 close-up magic champion.

The Rosen Sisters (Gail Rosen and Deborah Rosen) have been exercising their paranormal skills since they were children in Northeast Philadelphia. The sisters won the MAES (Magicians Alliance of Eastern States) 2002 mentalism award for their baffling demonstration of sightless vision. They most recently communicated with the 19th century Fox Sisters at Tapestry Theater's Fourth Annual Female Funny Festival. The sisters perform at corporate events, private parties, and séances throughout the area.




Eric Van Wie grew up near Syracuse, NY, and earned his BFA in theater at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He is an actor and a former artistic director/performer of Comedy Sportz Philadelphia. He has also appeared in a variety of comic roles in The Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival's productions and performs with Theater Ariel. He also brought laughs to the NJ State Aquarium, Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles. Eric is also a storyteller with Once Upon A Nation in historic Philadelphia.
